One Sweet Find: 5 Ways to Wear It

The Modern Pearl Necklace

The contrast of this pearl necklace is what I love about it.  It makes it completely different from any other pearl necklace I've owned or even seen.  The combination of the deep steel with pure pearls and crystal is edgy but traditional.  That's why I decided to go with animal print and black pants for this look.  To make it much more edgy, I'd add a leather jacket and black stilettos or wear this top with a black leather skirt.

One Sweet Find: 5 Ways to Wear It

The Modern Pearl Necklace

I almost didn't pair these two together, but I am glad I did.  I love the look of lace.  My wedding dress was pure white Chantilly lace.  So, when I first saw this black and white lace dress, I had to have it.  I am always inspired by Kate Middleton's gorgeous lace gowns and dresses.  I'm not sure I can ever have enough lace in my closet!

One Sweet Find: 5 Ways to Wear It

The Modern Pearl Necklace

To be honest, I've never worn anything bright orange other than my favorite Syracuse University sweatshirt and this orange top.   And if you ask me, yes, I bleed orange; I am an SU (Syracuse University) grad.  So, I'm partial to orange and navy any day.   I love this orange shirt because I think it brings these pearls to life.   I paired it with white pants.  It's something I never would have done a few years ago because I always stayed true to the rule about not wearing white before Memorial Day.   However, that rule has become old-school to many in the fashion industry these days.  Pure white pants and jeans are often worn in winter now, which makes me very happy.  (I am armed with Oxy and bleach to clean them - I have an almost 2-year-old who loves avocados and pink popsicles!)

One Sweet Find: 5 Ways to Wear It

The Modern Pearl Necklace

I love a pearl necklace because it's timeless.  I've usually worn the more traditional pearl necklace, but this one is pretty amazing!    I know it's a necklace Charlotte will one day wear.  Actually, though, my sweet baby girl tried it on it before I did.  As soon as I got it in the mail, she said "On!" and so I let her wear it.  She's loved it ever since.  Great taste!

This necklace given to be by Stella & Dot with Erika Lehman is said to be a vintage inspired steel chain pearl necklace.  The Daisy Pearl Necklace  can be worn as a short necklace (as it is here), long necklace (with the help of the extender) and you can wear the extender as a bracelet (seen here). I absolutely love the sparkling accent piece on it because it makes a unique and memorable pearl necklace.

Sweet Spring Transition

I love a sunny look!  I only have a few yellow items in my closet and I think I need many more.  Yellow is one of those colors that can be difficult to wear.  I prefer more of a clear or almost neon yellow rather than a mustard yellow.  It all depends on your skin tone.   (I'll be working on color charts to share with you as I progress in my image management studies.)  I also love bright, sparkly, sunny accessories like the Stella & Dot bangle below!

Sweet Spring Transition

These two bracelets are two of my favorite new things.  I got them from BaubleBar.  One is for my name and the other is for Charlotte's name. I suspect she will end up wearing them :)  I'd been looking at them for a long time and I finally ordered them and they look better than I imagined.

Sweet Spring Transition

On spring days, I also love to wear my blazers as jackets.  I wait for this all year long!  It's such a comfortable option.

Sweet Spring Transition

After more snow over the weekend, at last it's getting into the 40s and 50s!  Unfortunately, it's not warm enough yet for most of us in the Northeast to shed our coats.  But, we can finally wear our spring coats!  On the cooler days, I pair my lighter coats with one of my winter scarves so at least I don't have to wear a bulky winter coat.  I love this Burberry Brit scarf because it's also large enough to wear as a shawl on cooler spring days with a 3/4 sleeve cotton shirt.  And now that I don't have to cover up with gloves every day, I love to wear bracelets I can actually see!
